I will have to reinstall XP Pro, clean install. What does that do to the registering with Microsoft. I did activate it on installation last week. Will they recognize a reinstall when I reactivate?

You reinstalled, so you have a different OS install. If you have to call Microsoft to get a reactivation code just tell them that you reinstalled on the same box because your hard drive crashed or something.
    No big deal.

And while you're talkin' with them, don't forget to let them know how you feel about having to kiss their *ss every time you reload your system. Phooey. What a bunch of ****.

i dunno if its kissing up to 'em, more like a slave to master, not a employee to a employer...we have to do it or they wont fix it, if we dont kiss up, they still have to help us,

Whatever... I just think this stuff is hard enough to install and operate without having some chicken **** from the vendor that intercepts your moves and shoots you down.

This stuff used to be fun, especially for the power user, since we could experiment with it and tailor it to suit our needs.

Now we have to take what they cram down us and if we try to do something that used to be fun, they shut down the system until we explain our motives.

That's my definition of a bunch of ****. I welcome other opinions.
