    Hello,

    I have a running windows xp home on a fujitsu siemens laptop (M3438G) with some troubles; I wanted to format and reinstall;

    After booting from WinXP CD, I get a message that no Hard disk found.

    I go into the bios setup, look at the HD in the IDE configuration but see no HD but only the DVD device.

    In the device manager, I see twice: Samsung HM060II SCSI disk device

    Please advise.

    Thank you

    At what stage do you see the 'No hard disk found'?
    This is a SATA drive and needs the drivers to be installed at F6 on the second blue screen.

    Guessing that the laptop does not have a floppy drive this article may help ....

    Install Windows XP on SATA without a Floppy (F6)
