My operating system is Windows 98 SE and recently my computer was infected with some virus. The antivirus software has deleted my notepad.exe or some related to it libraries. Now, when I try to click on the "view source" in Internet Explorer, I get an arror message: "Can't find... ".
Maybe someone knows how to reinstall Windows Notepad?
    Thanks in avance.

Go to Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel and click the Windows Setup tab. I believe Notepad should be in the Accessories category and if it is checked (showing it's already installed) uncheck it, click Apply at the bottom then re-check the box and click OK or Apply to reinstall it.

    notepad or any other

Sorta easy way is put the win98 in tray click start/run type sfc [enter] instead of letting sfc "search for" select "extract file" & type in the line notepad.exe [enter] this will place notepad in the windows folder back on your hard drive:)

    Kernell

    Hi,
First of all, I'm glad you like my site, but it's much better to visit and experience all the kingdom wonders first hand.
Meantime, I'd like to ask you more one question about the "kernell" files in Windows 98 SE.
What they are for? and how many of them? I mean "kernell.dll" and "kernell32.dll ". For instance, I can't find kernell.dll in my windows folder. Is this OK?
The problem is, I get an error browsing through Macromedia Shockwave. My computer stop responding.
    Maybe you can help me.
    Thanks in advance.
