I have decided to reinstall my Windows Me to try to solve many of my problems. I have tried restore to no avail. My question is do I go back to square one with windows updates and are they all still available to upgrade?

If You intend to reformat and install from square one, then all updates will have to be reinstalled too.

I would download and install Everest Home Edition which is a system information tool.

Scroll to Software > Windows Updates and take notes of what has been installed on Your system.

Next, go to Windows Update Catalog , find Your operating system and language, search for updates and download the ones You need and burn to CD(s).
If You are on dial-up, ask someone on broadband to help ...... ...... it will save some time.

Now, You're set to do a smooth reinstallation, without having to go on-line to Windows Update.

Don't forget to install FireWall and AntiVirus prior to going on-line.

    Good luck!
