While talking a friend through the instructions to remove the upper and lower values for the Roxio Easy CD Creator (a problem I recently had) he took it a step too far before he told me. He made two critical mistakes First, he didn't opt to backup the registry files like I told him to and Second when he saw other like entries he searched them and deleted anything that said upper values. When the system was rebooted he lost keyboard and mouse functionality. Any Ideas out there.. thanks for any suggestions

Have him do a system restore to a restore point prior to making the changes.

    Success...

Actually it only took going to the "Last Known Good Configuration" in Safe Mode to correct the problem. Thanks again....ckl

If the computer has not been successfully restarted in 'normal' mode, Last Known Good Configuration will work, the 'data' for Last Known Good Configuration is updated on a successful start.
