Hi; I installed win xp pro, but when I got to the point about partition, I did not know that I have already a partition (my Hd is brand new??) so I choose whatever was highlited and at the end of the installation I noticed that the drive C is only 9g but my HD is 80 g, I do not find the other 71g, I can see all my hard drive in the bios.
So I was thinking that maybe if I removed completly windows and star from cero (clean install) I can make a better choice.
Can I do that? or what should I do?
I tried already with partition magic but does not want to get install, so I want to leave it in peace for now.
If is possible what will be my best option about the partition when installing win xp?.
    Thank you

    Hello caraloca,

Unless someone comes up with a better solution, re-install. I assume your install is recent, so not too many changes to make. Remember to input the full 80 gigs as the partition size if that is what you want. The ideal would be to at least have two partitions.

Don't understand why Partition Magic doesn't work though.

    Regards - Charles

9Gb should be plenty for a system partition.

You can use the Disk Managment section under Computer Management to format the remaining space and it will then be available to you. Right now it's not formatted so you can't see it from most of the usual places like Windows Explorer.

hi, I used disk management and now everything is fine, I can see all the hard drive, at the same time I made a couple of partitions. The problem as you mentioned, the rest of the hard drive was not formatted.
    Thank you
