   I have XP-home with SP-2 installed and I've had a few quirky things happen with my auto updates and task manager. I'm wondering can I just reinstall SP-2 on top of my present version without doing any harm to try to fix some of my problems?
   Just curious. Don't want to mess everything up.

   Have you tried to tackel the issues first?
   
   You'll have to uninstall SP2 via add/remove programs before you can re-install it.
