Using XP Pro Corp. Replaced C: drive with another larger drive. Used new drives' install program to image C: to new drive. Copy seemed to go OK, but on install everything got 'jerky', mouse, window loading, etc. Removed new drive and put old back, now all is OK. Does XP require a reinstall with a new drive.

The Corp version doesn't call home.
    Old drive is Fuji
    New drive is WD
MB IWill KK266 is ATA 100 compliant
    768M PC133

    Suggestions??

    TIA

burn backups, do a clean reinstall. Are you keeping both hard drives? What will the secondary one be used for?

Rather than burn backups, I'll probably just do a reinstall after I try something like Ghost or some other means rather than WD's included software. I'll probably use the old C: drive in another box, already have a secondary drive, and a SCSI drive, and RAID capabilities. I'm just after the ATA100 as opposed to ATASlow that the Fuji now has....

Just did a reinstall a week or two ago - botched an uninstall of Win2003/XP dual boot. Now have 2K3 & 2KPro living nicely together on an older K6 - gotta keep up with the gates' ya know.....
