I have an 800-060 HP Envy I7 pc that came with Win8. I upgraded to windows 10 and 2+years later hard drive failed. I reinstalled O/S with original recovery disks and now am replacing the hard drive. Can I use the windows 10 media creation tool assuming the software will find the key in the TPM trusted platform module? thank you.

If you upgraded from 'legit' Win8 then I don't think there will be any problem.
I've replaced HDD's with SSD's on my Notebook and 3 Desktops and replaced the SSD on this comp with a larger GB (240 to 500GB SSD) and had no problems.

Or you can go ahead and just install Win10 directly. No problem & no need to jump the loop from WIn8 to Win10.
