I have the latest version (1.45, build 0505).
Clicking the "Find in Registry" and searching for symantec, for norton and for
SPBBC. Several entries were found (and i thought i had got rid of them earlier!).

Anyway, after finding some entries and selecting all of them, how do i tell
regseeker to remove them?? I dont see a "remove" button or anything like it.

Is it as simple as selecting the entries you want to remove (checking the "create
a backup box) and closing the program?

On the otherhand, is there a help file?

    thanks,
    savagcl

After you have selected entries for deletion, right click on main display.
A small menu screen appears, click on Delete selected items.
Be sure to check that Backup before deletion is "ticked" before you delete entries (bottom left corner).

    DennisL,

    Thanks.
I just came back here to post that i found it.

Works good - found 655 items under "Clean the registry" and after doing a
close review of them, told it to delete all! Xp came right back up and seems
to be working fine. But I'll hang on the to the backup file for a week or so
until i'm sure all is well in PC Land!

    thanks, Dennis,
    savagcl

    Your welcome.
RegSeeker has never caused a burp for me.
Could always be a first time, but with the backup, not a major problem.

Well... we've been down this street before, but I'll repeat what the MVP's over on the Microsoft forum said. Running RegSeeker or for that matter any registry cleaning tools is both unadvisable and generally does not benefit the user to any degree.

I do use RegSeeker but only remove those files which are marked green and only before making a backup. It seems to me that eventually even the most careful is going to get caught with his proverbial pants down and then the cautionary warning of the MVP's will be remembered.
