The WINDOWS directory has two files as follows:

    registry.zzz (5.28 MB)
    ~$gistry.zzz ( 8.00 MB)

The first line of the binary registry.zzz makes reference to a folder called C:\windows\r27, which I cannot find, although I have the "show hidden" enabled in "Folder Options ".

Could, please, somebody enlighten me? In one instance, at least, I tried to use a program and the folder interfered.

    TIA,

    :)

These files may have been created by an app named "WinRescue ". If you are using it, reinstall or uninstall and delete these files.

Thank a lot, Abraxas. Indeed, I have WinRescue. But when I asked for support, I didn't get any idea what to do with those BIG files. I just asked support anew, in the light of your answer.

I guess these are the files where they hold their backups. Really a weird way to do it!!!!

If I am right, deleting them, would cause to lose the backups. That I wouldn't want to do. It is a fine software, and it has helped me more than once.

    Thanks again,

    :p

    Glad you figured it out.

Yes. Deleting them will make you lose your backup. If you were uninstalling or decided not to use the app again, then that wouldn't matter.

    Thanks for posting back.
