I downloaded a program a friend wrote in Visual Basic. The installation didn't register the OCX file I need correctly, and he gave me the following instructions, and this is the error I got. What do I need to do to get the ActiveX component registered.

    Instructions to follow:
One of the most common problems is people having sensitve operating systems that won't install and register the ActiveX components. If you run into this problem, you can download them here, and follow these instructions.

    Tabctl32.ocx
    Comdlg32.ocx

First copy the file to a place you do not plan on moving it from. For the most part the most common place for ActiveX controls is C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32 (or C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32).

Once then, then click Start. Then Click Run. Then Type:

    regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\filename.ocx
    (replace with real filename)

    Error I get:
I was getting the "Comdlg32.ocx" error, so I tried using the
Troubleshooting advice, but now I get an error stating that the protocol regsvr32c does not have a registered program.

For grins, type .exe after regsvr32.

If this isn't a typo (regsvr32c), it looks like you didn't put a space between regsvr32 and the path to the file. There needs to be a space after regsvr32.
