Does anyone have a reg fix/hack for forcing the image size redcution when adding image files to an email. You normally get 4 choices, no change and three others. I need to force the size to the smallest.

    Cheers

    Hi Steve,

surely you can't be serious with that comment :) Just add a jpg file to outlook 2003 email and you get an "attachment option" button on the right hand side of the screen, when you click on it you get a number of options, keep the attached images the same size, and three levels of reduction, on the lowest you will drop a 3 mb file down to 50-100K max. The email in the "sent" folder is not chnaged only the actaul email sent, tey it send one to yourself.

Hope someone can help with this.

    Cheers

Now I see what you're talking about said the blind man:eek:

All I can say is good luck in finding a way to force a change to the settings.

ps. I did notice that the attachment size in the sent mail was reduced from 60kb to 18kb...Since it has to be reduced somewhere, it makes sense that it's reduced on the local machine...The received attachment size in OE was 15kb...

This might be a good place for me to come in as I have a 17.5mb file I'd love to send off but alas it seems way over the top.

Tricked myself by inserting it as background sound and sent it to myself to try...GREAT..Ok so sent it off to my recipient but it came up blank.

After that feedback I reloaded it..yep OK....then decided to send the file on C: to the recycle bin and then found out the background sound was picking up off the file I had on C:

Other than doing a burn of this audio file to a CD then shipping off overseas what options are available to me as the two software zip programs certainly don't compress anywhere near enough.

I have loaded this file to a website http://www.royngloria.zoomshare.com/files/Times_and_Seasons.mp3 in anticipation of directing my international friends there though I suppose it will take forever for them to download/open/extract it from there.

As there is a sense of urgency for them to receive this I am wondering if anyone can provide a suitable solution.

    Thanking You

Not being funny, but airmailing a CD could be your best option right now :)

If I click on your link WMP opens and plays the track. - is that not good enough?

Thanks Pete but I suppose it really depends on the "sense of urgency "

The other factor is their ability to be able to burn this to a CD so here's what I've done hoping it will work for them...this is out of guesswork and trying not from any technical capabilities whatsoever.

After going to the link I've gone to Tools/Internet Options/Settings/View Files..clicked/copied/pasted/Times_and_Seasons.mp3 onto my PC which shows up as a 17.5mb file and playable after deleting Files and Cookies in Internet Options.

Am I on the right track to advise them of such an option to then be able to burn this to a CD via this method........I suppose I could try it first but thought best to get some "expert" advice.

    Thanks
