I have a database that has all my suppliers and the prices and discounts they give me in it. When I fill out an Excel Spreadsheet it pulls the price and discount and calculates the unit cost as well as the total cost of all the items. However, when I load the spreadsheet I have to manually refresh the extrernal data. Is there a way that it is automaically updated when I load the spreadsheet?

I don't know what version of Excel you are running (I have Excel 2000) but go to Tools>Options>Calculation and under the Workbook Options check the box next to "Update remote references ". Not sure but that may do your auto updates.
