    Hi all...

I was hoping someone could give a step by step procedure for completely wiping a hard drive out and reinstalling the OP and other software.

I have a Gateway 700S 2.4mhz XP machine. I did reformat once before but had to call Gateway several times during the process for help. This computer has a partition on it and I had no experience dealing with that. I had to rid the hard drive of the partition then re-partition again before installing my software. Unfortunately, I did not write down the steps that Gateway had me go through to accomplish this....and there were several.

If anyone has step by step instructions on how to do all of this, starting from the beginning, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you post it here??

    Many thanks in advance....

    Using Fdisk and Format

You didn't mention what type of install CD you have, a M$ Windows CD or Gateway Recovery CD.
If the Gateway, the other partition is necessary due to their software. You could put in the Recovery CD, reboot, the computer should boot off of the CD. You should then get the option to let it Format and Install, or do a Recovery Install.
