I have just installed a new motherboard which works well (after much trouble setting text size, screen format etc. etc. to get the display back to something like it was).

However, the title- and task-bars have narrowed to about two thirds of what they were and the icons on this narrower taskbar are quite small and not too easy to see, so is there any way to increase the width without affecting anything else?

Is there something somwhere that defines the parameters of the frame that can be modified?

Hi Tony King. Can you post a screenshot of what your taskbar looks like?

Take a look at this link to modify the size of the taskbar, Using the Windows XP Taskbar.

Setting the Active Title Bar height will change the Taskbar height at the same time.

(Right-click any blank space on the Desktop and select Properties. Click the Appearance tab then the Advanced button. In the Item: pulldown select Active Title Bar and change the height to whatever you like. (Default is 25). Click OK, Apply, OK).

    Reduced taskbar

Many thanks Doc. Everything now more or less as I prefer.

Thank heavens there are people such as yourself who know all the wrinkles!!

Thanks also, Evan, for your interest - Doc's answer was the simplest solution.
