How do i redirect new mail when it arrives into a subfolder within inbox? I have two email accounts linked and i want the messages to be kept separate rather than all mixed up in the Inbox folder.
I found an option within account settings that allows you to "use the following folder for new mail ", however it only shows Inbox and not either of the two subfolders within it.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Alex

I use Filters. I have 3 accounts. My main account mail goes to the Inbox and I have a filter for each of the other accounts:

    For incoming messages that:
    To: is address
    Perform these actions:
    move message to folder

My thunderbird is version 1.5.07 on linux and filters are in Tools menu > Message Filters, not sure about windows thunderbird, but I suspect is similar. I'd never use subfolders of the Inbox, best to just keep separate folders imho.
