Hello all its been a minute, I was wondering if there is a way to make it so when I drag a file to the desktop it will save it to another folder, say My Documents or something like that. My wife and I both have a bad habit of saving or dropping things onto the desktop and I don't like saving and deleting things to my windows partition all the time, plus the desktop gets cluttered too fast. I could disable modification of the dektop in advanced folder security settings but thats a bit drastic and then I would have to change the setting back every time I wanted to add a new shortcut. And I'm not too keen on moving the location of the desktop folder with TweakUI either. If I could just redirect files to another folder when a file is dropped that would be perfect. Any thoughts?

I may not understand your question!

Don't drag files to the Desktop! Not a good practice. Create shortcuts!

Create a folder for each, you and wife. Keep yours in yours, hers in hers.
