Red X in postage stamp stops download

    Red X in postage stamp stops download.

    When I click On some URLs a postage stamp size box with a red X in it pops up then goes away and Win98 IE 6 will not open the URL.

    This is new the last two weeks. I may have altered some option or it may something like ad-awre or spy-bot. but I can not find it.

    Any suggestions?

    Have you by chance loaded the recent patch to IE6 through Windows Update?

    Got a popup stopper installed? The one I use displays a red circle with a diagonal line through it whenever it blocks an ad. Yours might be blocking pages that are trying to open in a new window.
