The properties on my Recycle Bin have changed to "Do not move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted" The selection is greyed so I cannot change the setting. Not sure how this happened but I need the original setting back where files are deleted into the Recycle Bin. Any ideas?

    Hi PeterDavies, and welcome!

Do you by any chance have Norton Utilities installed? If you are using Norton's Protected Recycle Bin, it may cause this situation. Your choice would be to either disable the Norton bin or use it exclusively and pay no heed to the Windows bin settings.

Hi there Surferdude2. Many thanks for taking the time to reply. I do run Norton but not the Protected Recycle Bin (I need to check this out as I have recently been upgraded to their Protection Centre by my ISP). The problem only exists on my user account and not the others on my PC so it seems to be an account specific problem. Has only happened in the last week althought there were some XP system upgrades from M.Soft.
