I found the AVG file recovery program, ran it, and several dll files came up. I have no way of editing these files to see what they control. Should I recover them, not knowing what they are? I can store them in a different location than the original location.

    dll files

Mr. Bill: I was hunting a very important doc. file, that unfortunately I had not made a backup of. I found the doc file ok. and being curious, decided to see if I could find some JPG files that were missing. Found them too. Hawk 22 gave me a link that opens almost any type of file. and since the Windows Media player wasn't functioning, I thought maybe I could determine which dll file controlled the Media player, I would recover the dl files. recovered many dl files but could not determine what they did. The Windows Media player is the only problem I am having. I just needed the forum to advise me what to do with the recovered dll files. Thanks and best wishes
