recommendations for hard drives?

    I would like to buy a hard drive that performs well with a P4C800 E Dlx motherboard. Can someone recommend a drive that gives good performance?

    It would be easier to answer that question if you would specify drive type not just the Board: for example, EIDE - SATA

    Maybe a WD Raptor, 10000rpm and 8mb cache.
    Get a single platter if possible, dual platters if you must.

    Just a thought on the size of the drive... I've found that if you figure the max size you could ever need and then double it you'll come close to what you actually need... :rolleyes:

    Yep, after calculating needs, instead of one large drive, get two. This gives you an internal backup device besides storage.
