I recently reinstalled xp and I was trying to find my "Favorites" to replace them and noticed I have 2 sets of "Users" in my Documents and Settings folders...

    examples:

    all users
    all users.windows

    crysti
    crysti.laptop

    localservice
    localservice.nt authority

Did I do something goofy on reinstall? Or should they look like that? That is just a few..

Sounds normal - XP always has extra user folders under Documents and Settings. The name(s) under which you log in under will be the folder(s) that will contain your info.

A lot of people will login under at least two names - Admin with full "powers" and as a limited user. This is done for security reasons and for limiting what guests are able to access.

    Regards - Charles

Well, yes, sorta. Probably. But harmless except for the extra stuff you are seeing. It's harmless and my suggestion would be to just ignore the extra accounts unless you run in to problems (doubtful).

If everything you had is still available and you can locate your stuff, you are fine. If any of it seems to have gone missing, say what and we can probably unscramble things but best not to get into that unless it's necessary.

I am slightly baffled that you are seeing so many variations like
    all users
    all users.windows
    crysti
    crysti.laptop

    I'd have expected
    all users.windows
    crysti.windows

    or
    all users.laptop
    crysti.laptop

The usual cause of what you are seeing is to do a reinstall and use a different folder for the new OS install without having removed the Documents & Settings folder first. The accounts with the extensions should be the old ones. But in that case, the extensions use the old OS folder name.
