When I click on START to bring up the restart option it just freezes and doesn't change to the option.

I have to restart by pressing the button on the tower.

    Any ideas please?

    Thankyou

    Arie,
Thanks a lot and there was a LOT to look through so I put it on the backburner for a while.

Since then I installed and ran a couple of times Advanced Windows Care from http://www.iobit.com/

Seems this piece of software sorted out some irregularities and now the problem I had no longer is an issue.

Previous to this I had downloaded Tray Commander from http://www.ardamax.com/which served the purpose.

I have included this info for others who might visit this posting.

    Once again THANKS
    roy
