    Hello all,

I will be trying apps that reboot and restore computers to their original status like SteadyState or deepfreeze but something came to my mind before doing so.

My interest is to have my antivirus updated; I mean, restoring my pc to its origninal states means un-updating my antivirus after being updated when the pc is on... unless those apps have a certain utility that allows the antivirus to be out of the 'restore process'.

What do you think? any advice?

    Thank you

You'll have to re-install, and update everything

    Hello joedotm,

You would have to update the "original" status, much the same way drive images are, and as Broni pointed out, the original status is theoretically never up to date.

    Hello,

thank you guys for your help.. I think it will be a time consuming task to update the original status; I guess I will take the choice of the antivirus out and better for me to have the PCs reboot and restore to avoid continuous support visits to my client (which is a school lab).
