    Hi Zac,
It is helpful if you could post you system Info, you can do this by going into the User CP, located at the top left of this page, click the my system link on my response to get an Idea, if you are unsure of your system details download SIW for help.

Have you checked in the machines Bios as to what drives are showing as being detected?

Have you set the Boot device order? I would recommend 1: Floppy if installed, 2: CD/DVD, 3: HDD, you will not be able to boot from the cd unless it is in this sort of order!

Have you checked that all plugs are seated correctly, that is at both ends, motherboard & device, ie; HDD, CD/DVD, power cables etc, as they may dislodge while trying to install the RAM card/s

It appears at least one of the RAM cards has been seated correctly or you would have warning beeps or no boot!

Now the other harddrive was the O/S installed on the same machine, if not it will crash, not boot.

Try these first and let us know how you go
    Jac

If work on the hardware, disconnect any power (battery and charger).

With the power disconnected, try pressing the power button and holding it down for 30 - 60 seconds.
