I've been wondering whether I can reassign the desktop shortcut hotkeys like 'Alt+Tab' for switching between applications to 'Alt+G'
and things like that. I've been searching for helpful info thru the web but couldn't find.
    Can you help?
    Iwould greatly appreciate the help.

First, Here is a good list of the XP kbd shortcuts.

PC Magazine offers Hotkey Detective that will allow you to reassign many/most of the existing desktop hotkeys. Free applet.

PC Mag's utilities are no longer free ... they're available only on a subscription basis -- $19.97 annually ($14.97 for PC Mag subscribers), $4.97 monthly (3 DL/month limit), or $9.97 for a one-time 30-day "pass" (3 DL limit).

The decision by PC Mag, earlier this year, to start charging for access to the utility library has generated more action on their BBS than any other subject probably ever has, and 99% of the messages have been critical. Penny wise, pound foolish? Who knows, but they've said the decision would not be changed and, so far, it hasn't

    sjsmedia ...
If you want Hotkey Detective, email me and I'll send it to you. I DL'd it before PC Mag started charging.

Jim - thanks. I didn't know that. Haven't used any of their utilities for a while and didn't realize they charge now.

Still, if you like utilities and considering the huge number they have available, it might be worth spending the $20.

OTOH, if you got a free version of that one to send ....

    Newt ...

Quite honestly, I've found most of their utilities to be of limited value, but there are some absolute gems, like Registry Detective, EndItAll, StartupCop, and COA2, utilities that no computer toolbox should be without.
