When I click on Mute all on my volume controls the Realteck audio manager pops up and whatever you do it keeps popping back up.
It only happens on one user account. If you uncheck mute all it stops. Its driving me crazy. Has anyone else come across this? Its a windows xp sp3 machine, 2 gb ram.

You just need to stop Realtek audio manager from starting with that account
By selecting mute it therefore shouldn't open
Open up the Realtek audio manager settings screen and check for 1. Load with Windows and 2. disable popups or dispay settings.

I generally disable as much as I can from loading with Windows, including hotkeys.
I just want Windows and security software loading all the rest I can start manually.
Here's a simple tool that can disable (and subsequently re-enable) Windows startups:
    Startup Control Panel

In Startup Control Panel, click on HKLM / Run Tab
Locate RTHDCPL.EXE, then de-select it, then Restart

I'll try from msconfig, I don't like installing any more apps than I have to. I'll post to let you know

I see your point, I had forgotten about msconfig leaving it in Diagnostic mode. I remembered I have Spybot S&D (I've used and trusted this for years) on my computer so I went into advanced mode and removed realtek from startup and my issue is solved. Thank you so much for your input as I've learned from it.
