All my folders are marked as "Read Only ". The files inside the folders are not.

I can save files from most programs into these folders but some can't and I have to save the file on my desktop and copy and paste it into the folder.

I have full access, under the security tab, to the folders.

When I uncheck the box, close the dialogue and reopen it, the read only is checked again.

The "Read Only" is also checked in when the network drives are viewed using XP. However, XP is not as restrictive as Vista is.

Please read: You cannot view or change the Read-only or the System attributes of folders in Windows Server 2003, in Windows XP, or in Windows Vista

Tried that and it doesn't work. Theres also one that takes you into the registry to set a DWORD "usesystemforsystemfolders" to 1 and it makes no odds.

I think I'm just going to live with the inconveince.

That's the whole point. It's normal & shouldn't cause any problems.
