Why is it that every time I shutdown my PC, then reboot it, I have to go in and re-check to show my Quick Launch toolbar? Quite annoying, I should say:mad:

    Thanks,

Right click taskbar>select properties and make sure show quicklaunch is checked.

Thanks, but that's what I do everytime I have to bootup. The problem, as I mentioned in my opening thread, is that it doesn't stay checked.

    Thanks,

I thought you meant you check the quicklaunch option via a taskbar right click and from the "context menu" toolbar section have been checking the quicklaunch.

The right click taskbar>properties setting is different.

You may wish to give this a shot:
    http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm

How ever in this case the settings you may need may only be possible if program is registered. Cost is $ 5.00.

Let me see if I can find a reg patch or script that will accomplish one or two of the shareware crippled settings.

In the meantime you may wish to search our archives as the subject of "quick launch" comes up frequently. Use the google search option as this will make it less painful. Search drop down is found on top of this site page on the Darker blue toolbar.

    --------update--------

I couldn't find a script I'd recommend but I now remember what a pain this nuisance is. Every time it comes up there doesn't seem to be one fix that works for everyone. There are several common ones that work for the lucky but, "more than not ", these are tried and often appear not to work. Suddenly for no known reason, the problem clears up and the poster is never really sure what did it. All I can suggest is that you tweak it possibly using some of the suggestions in the following links and wait for your miracle....

Here's one from our own archives:
    http://www.windowsbbs.com/windows-xp/48650-desktop-quick-launch-must-reset-upon-logoff-reboot.html

The below is one of those suggestions I mentioned:
found a number of supposed fixes to this issue on the web; the fix that worked for me was as follows:

------The links below will have a few more---------------

    --------------------------------------------------------

It looks like the torch has been passed back to you. ;) If you can find and pin down the fix that worked for you, please remember to share it by updating your post.
