How do I re-associate the Spell Checker in OE6 with my Word 2000? I had installed Works 2000 in order to help my clients online with their problems and have now uninstalled Works. However, now when I try to send an email, the Works installer comes up and asks me to insert the Works2000 install disk. Thanking you in advance for the help I KNOW will be forth coming. Pops

I do have Word installed and always have. This happened after I had installed Works2000 and then uninstalled it. It seems that somehow OE has associated the spell checking function with Works and did not revert back to Word.

I would repair IE since OE is integrated with it. Do it through control panel, add/remove programs. I would also "detect and repair" Word, its in the help menu when you open Word.

Bingo......I tried to repair IE6 and that failed to fix the problem. I then did a "detect and repair" (which by the way took forever) in Word2000 and that did the trick. Thank you Gentlemen and thank you aleekat.......Pops
