The other day when viewing a powerpoint presentation I clicked to go to the next slide as usual, but then the computer starting clicking through many slides by itself and couldn't stop running through them. Now I can't control the process of any slideshow because the computer takes over and rushes through a couple every few seconds.

I noticed this now happens with facebook photos, as I press 'Next' onto the next photo and the computer intermittently tries to run through the whole album by itself. I know it's not to do with the mouse because it happens after just pressing any key to set it off - once it starts it can't stop flicking through!

I know this is a fairly obscure problem, but was wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions?

    Thanks.

Try a different mouse anyway. It the place to start. A little fuzz inside a wheel mouse can cause some very misleading symptoms.
