Hi! I have an acer laptop that is about two years old. It has been doing the BSOD for a couple of months but it was only every couple of days so it didn't really bother me. Now it is every ten to 15 minutes. If I am on the internet I can only work for ten minutes before it crashes. Sometimes it is a little longer. I tried reformating it but since the drive is in use it won't let me. I am not allowed to go into safemode. I was following directions on another site that had me reformt my d drive so now I can't go into safe mode. I honestly don't know what I did. I've tried the Advanced System Care, I have AVG and have done a full scan, I have defragmented and tried everything. I honestly just want to wipe it out and start over. I do not have the original disk and even if I could find it my cd rom stoped working awhile ago. It runs but does not show up on my computer and the computer does not react when I put a cd in, but the drive does react. I went into the system management and it says
The following boot-start or system-start driver(s) failed to load:
    SPBBCDrv
    SRTSPX
    SYMTDI
I am at the end of my rope. I cannot afford to get a new computer right now. I'm a college student and use it daily for writing papers and research as well as good ole facebook. Please any advice would be great!\

And its suppose to be multiple. I cant type either Fixed by Moderator :)

It sounds like you have hardware and software issues.

The Processor may be overheating due to lint/dust clogged air flow. That could be the cause of the blue screen after extended operation. Blowing it out with compressed air will usually cure that.

Your software problem will likely require you to have an XP install CD and an operable CD-ROM drive. Without those items, you have little more than a paper weight.

You need to have a plan in case of disaster.

The D: drive probably held the "recovery" image.

You may be able to make a set of recovery CDs. Best place to look would be in the User Guide/manual. Example:
    From here (Acer Europe)
    http://support.acer-euro.com/faqs/index.html?nb_as_list.inc

If you can't make recovery CDs you will need to get a retail version of Windows XP like surferdude suggested. Another possibility is to investigate getting your HDD reimaged by Acer (on a larger HDD?).

    Matt
