    Hi All,

I hope someone is able to help me out on this one. I tried Microsoft and they werent much help.

very randomly my pc will turn off, not shut down, just a garbled picture for about 1 second and attempt to reboot. when it is restarting I keep getting a Blue screen briefly and it starts to reboot again and again in a loop gets to the caterpiller thing at the bottom as if its loading then the same blue screen happens again, All i have been able to get from the blue screen is at the top "Hardware or software change......." and I am unable to read the rest as it goes away so quickly.

The only way for me to get back up and running is to switch off.....ie. holding power button in for a few secs, switch on and choose start windows normally. This does bring it back on, but I have no idea what is causing the problem.

This is a very recent install with very little else installed. It is a new retail version of vista home premium with SP1 pre-installed.

Machine specs incase anyone needs them:
    P4 3.4 dual core
    2gb crucial ballistix
    asus p5kc mobo
Various Hard drives internal - main OS drive 300gb
    Radeon hd 2600pro
    pioneer dvr115 burner
    samsung dvd-rom

Any help on how to rectify this will be greatly appreciated. any further info required please let me know.

    Thanks
    Bry

    KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (8e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
    happening.

The most likely cause of your problem is memory corruption - this is repeated throughout your dump ....
Test your memory bearing in mind that ....
In this case Windows Memory Diagnostic tool may find a problem following this entry ....
If that shows up no errors you must test the RAM physically by running one stick at a time, switching between slots, testing and then doing the samw with the other sticks. If no pattern emerges repeat the exercise with pairs of sticks switched between pairs of slots. These tests should establish if you have flakey a memory module(s) or mobo slot. Tedious, but the only sure fire way of diagnosing.
