Running Win 98SE with media player as my only streaming viewer. Thinking of downloading QuickTime Player 5.0.2 (FREE Player). I've heard how these players can take over your apps during the installation. Is there an option during the installation which will allow me NOT to have the QuickTime Player take over my media player as default player? Also heard the FREE player does NOT do "full screen "....all it does is a little screen, no half or 3/4 screen?

I appreciate that this doesn't directly answer your question, but you may wish to take a look at IrfanView. The plug-ins will allow you to play both Real Audio and QuickTime files without the need to install either the bothersome RealPlayer or the equally bothersome QuickTime player.

I have IrfanView (great program) but I was under the impression you need Realplayer and/or QuickTime installed in order to use those features.

I had thought the same. You can get the plug ins at the IrfanView site.

The plugins still won't allow use of those formats UNLESS you have them installed.

Oops ... sorry. You are quite correct in relation to QuickTime, however, I'm fairly sure that the RealAudio plug-in will function irrespective of whether RealPlayer is installed.
