When I try to download files from the Internet the page goes white and the Quicktime Logo comes on. The action bar at the bottom of the page shows its downloading but it only puts it in Temporary Internet files. I then get a message saying Quicktime is missing software to complete the operation and unfortunely it is not available on the Quicktime server.I downloaded the latest version of Quicktime to no avail. I want my old way back where the sreen comes up and asks me where and what I want to do with the file. Any suggestions. Dell computer with windows ME. Also I have already uninstalled Quicktime and reinstalled it , thinking that would work. No Luck

I had similar problems with quicktime and I think I uninstalled it with norton uninstall which I use with any problem software, some times you may have multiple copies of quicktime and it's just a mess. I HATE QUICKTIME

    Couple things...

One I only use Quick time when I have to.. And each time I have to install it, before using it... Because I use it so seldom, I always UNINSTALL it after using it.

One way is to strip the registry of everything dealing with Quicktime and Apple. That is a hard way, and to be done only AFTER you have tried to UNINSTALL the program properly.

Be careful of what you do remove from the registry, but try to get everything related to it.

Next, when you try to download somethig fromt he net, try right clicking on the item and save it as...

Another way, by far the easiest.. is to download a downloading program. Getright is nice, because you can program it to put things where you want them to go.

If you use getright to download a quicktime project, it is not a problem, because you can download it there, then view it in quicktime...
Although there are other downlaoders, it is always up to you to try.
