I was in the process of creating a new toolbar. When I clicked, I unchecked the quick launch toolbar. No problem, just right click on taskbar and reselect quick launch toolbar. Great! Except now I cannot get the toolbar back next to the start button. It docks next to the system area. I tried moving it to the left, NO. I tried moving it off to the side of the desktop, then back, NO. This happened on my machine once before with Windows 98. I then went to Windows 2000, and the toolbar was back where it belongs. Now I have messed up again, you think I would learn. Thanks for any help you can give me

I don't know if this will help:

You can resize the toolbar or move it to another location on the taskbar by pointing to the vertical bar on the left side of the toolbar and dragging it to the left or right.

You can create a floating toolbar by dragging it from the taskbar to the desktop.

I tried all the moving stuff. The toolbar will NOT go back next to the start button. I don't want to re-install windows, and I don't know if that will help anyway. Thanks for trying

    Bummer

Tell us about the appearance of the Quick Launch bar. Is it the original? Do you see a pair of cotted columns on the left and right edges?

No. It is not like the original. It is just the opposite. Originally it was positioned next to the start button. The re-size bar was on the right side. And you dragged it to the right to make the toolbar larger or left to make it smaller. Now the toolbar is on the taskbar next to the system tray. The drag bar is on the LEFT edge, and you drag left to make it larger or right to make it smaller.

Thanks for all your help Pinocchio
