When i booted my sys, i (partially) saw "system configuration changed. error
code 3" on-screen. It went on to say windows could not continue (or words
to that effect, not sure). Nothing i tried would get windows to boot up,
normal, safe, last good config - nothing. I attempted a repair - no good. I
tried to restore from a system image (on a external HD) with windows OS in
the DVD drive but windows would only show the "C" drive and its partitions (did not list
the external USD hard drive at all.

The previous night i had shutdown with no problems at all. So, i'm curious
about what might have happened to cause this. Since it required me to do a
re-install of windows 7 from scratch.

I have since done a fresh re-install of windows but would like to know what
might have happened and why i couldn't recover from the system image so i
can take steps to insure i am ready if it ever happens again.....

    thanks,

    Arie,

    I couldn't find anything wrong.

    I have already re-installed win7.

I'll keep a current backup and just watch it closely, if it
happens again - get a new HD.

    Will mark this as resolved
    thanks,
