I have a wireless network with 3 desktops and 1 laptop. Two of the desktops are wired into the router, the other 2 are wireless. Originally the USB printer was installed on a wired desktop, let us call that computer "host ". I then arranged for the other computers to share that printer, meaning the host has to be on as well as the printer, for any of the other computers to print. I would now like to attach the shared printer to the other wired computer, call it "Two" - because I want to move the computer "host" to a different location and I can not move the printer. To continue using this shared printer, can I simply plug it into the computer Two and proceed as if nothing ever happened?
When I introduced the sharing to all the computers, the drivers, etc. seemed to get downloaded to each computer during the setup, but I am not sure exactly what files were transferred.
    Thanks for your help.
The OS on 2 computers is WIN XP and on the others WIN Vista home premium, if that matters.

Sitting in Dentists office waiting, killing some time. LOL
Only have my laptop n gotta do this from memory.

    Answer is Yes – maybe.
Unless some special software as some HP’s n just about all combo printers have you’ll almost be good to go.
Plug it into ‘two’ - see if it comes up as local printer (then share it) – if not install it and then share it.

Depending on settings other computers will automatically find it else will have to reset it up on each computer as network printer. Just look at location of printer in Printers n Faxes on all computers.
(\\host\ printer name or \\two\ printer name)

Then go into printers n Faxes on all computers and delete the shared printer connected to host. That’s just to simplify things otherwise it’ll show up twice if go to select a printer. once as a printer on ‘host’ again on ‘two’.
