Windows Vista Home Premium system. Loaded and used Wordperfect Office X3 about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday tried to open Quattro Pro X3 and got a pop up window with the heading "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" the message displayed in the window is "Runtime Error! Program:C:\Program Files\Wordperfect Office X3\Programs\QPW.exe" and following that "Abnormal Program Termination ".

I tried System Restore, to several different points. Didn't work. I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. Didn't work. I tried to repair the program, no help.

Anyone with any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jack

One additional piece of information. I'm using Advanced Windows Care 2 Personal and when scanning Registry Fix items it hangs up on "ComponentStore_RandomString" and will not scan further. It never did that before. I don't know if the two are related or not. Thanks again, Jack

Sorry about the delayed reply. I did have the updates installed. Still didn't work. Finally, while shopping for something unrelated at Sams club, I happened to mention the problem to a guy who works in the computer department. He said he had had the same problem and would e-mail me the fix. Here it is. Works fine now.

Select start programs, accessories and run.
Type in regedit on the open window and select OK.
    Choose the following path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel\User Assistant\13\Recent Work\Quattro Pro\..
Right click on the Quattro Pro folder select rename and rename the folder to Quattro Pro old. Quattro Pro will launch fine.

Thanks again for your help. Jack
