I am not currently able to push software down with WSUS on our network, but I need to get Silverlight out to all our workstations.

Is there an automated way to do this?

I once looked at deploying software before by adding something to our login script, but there were some issues about users needing permissions for installs when they logged in, and that software never did.

Can this be done, automated, without mucking about in people's permissions on the local machines and network? That would be the ideal solution.

While you're wating - go sit at someone computer and see what happens when you try to install it off the internet. That will help determine if you don't have to muck with user permissions.

I had someone attempt the install, and the silverlight installed told me that the install failed. When we clicked the link for more information, it opened a window that described the error message as "generic" and provided no further reason why the software would have not installed.
