Don't know what this is. Symantec has a page that identifies it as a virus.
    www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.elet.html

Others say it is something to do with a modem. I use DSL.

No matter how many times I run msconfig and remove the check, this keeps re-checking itself. I deleted the ptsnoop.exe file from my computer, but it still comes back. When I run a "find files" on my computer, ptsnoop.exe cannot be found. What's up with that?

In win.ini, I just have load= . I am not a techie, so don't know how to find the culprit that is checking it. According to something I read, it hogs resources.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks.

Here's some info, blatantly stolen from Resource Management :D

Ptsnoop.exe: This is a modem driver used by several software modems to monitor the COM port. Its functions become active when the modem is in use.
