Hi all, i am new here.
i have a few friends in foreign country and they cannot access some of the web site and server here since the servers are not allowing foeign IP to connet or browse it.
i want to setup a PROXY server to let my friend to connect to it thou. internet and use the server IP to connect to those site so that they can read and connect to the server.
My server is a windows 2000 server, has a fixed IP but only one network adpater.
I heard that Microsoft PROXY SERVER 2.0 can do the task but after i installed it i don;t know how to makeit works as wanted.
Anyone have suggestion or tutorial i can follow ?
    thx a lot

Since your IP is fixed and presumably public, it would need to fall in the range of allowable IP's accessable from the foriegn country. It's that whole routing thing.

You might suggest that they search some warz sites in their country for proxy servers.

    Good Luck.

The opening of this thread sounds like you are saying you are in the Unites States or the UK (major locations for our posters) and you are trying to help out friends in other countries.

Since your email address and IP address both belong to a Hong Kong ISP that is known to do some spamming, that impression is not accurate.

Also, the only blocks I'm familiar with are when known-spammer ISPs are blocked by others that don't want the SPAM. Sometimes this has been done to folks who weren't guilty of anything but usually not.

Based on the above, I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do and not particularly comfortable in helping you do it.

I'm locking this thread now. If you wish, feel free to email me and explain clearly what is going on and if it sounds OK, I'll either reopen the thread or let you post another one.
