Hi, I am working on a old Windows 98 Machine and I am installing a second HD 4Gig plus I am installing Windows 2000 Pro onto it the OS drive is 10gig.
I can not access the BIOS as it is protected and the owner has no idea as he received it as is. Would resetting the BIOS unlock it as it is set it will not recognize the second HD. I am going to Format the both drives.
    thanks

Resetting the BIOS by removing the battery should clear a BIOS password if that is what you mean by 'protected'. You have nothing to lose by trying :)

Thanks Pete, I did do that as I could not find the Jumper, and it seemed to work ok. I have now loaded 2000 and all is working ok.
