    Hi is this for real?

    http://sourceforge.net/directory/os:windows/freshness:recently-updated/?q=project vaccine

It would be nice to see and hear about programs running out there to track and remove malware, adware, spyware etc but no reputable AV program is going to let this run on your machine without exclusions so whats the point in making it?

I guess the trust issue would be quite high, if it behaves like malware how can you trust a program like this, it could be a nasty program?

Just wondering because your paid for AV software does F all to stop browser hijackers and and and and the rest of the s**te out there!

    Regards, Ian.

It appears legit, but I wouldn't trust anything from the guy who made the software.

Thanks for the reply Tony and my thoughts exactly!

Of course there would be no real incentive for the companies who sell their AV product to want to reduce the amount of nasties out there and we all have to keep upgrading your software to stay on top of things.

I read Oracle has implemented 170 patches not all for Java 42 and only 2 for W server based programs etc and Chrome again more security patches, big sigh!

It's very nice of Avast, AVG and others to give away a decent free AV program but paranoia sets in and you buy it anyway.

Take care bud hoping some day down the line they stop making programs like Swiss cheese, Ian.

For what it's worth, I don't use an antivirus on my laptop (main use computer). I use Windows Defender on my Windows 8 desktop (called Microsoft Security Essentials on Windows 7 & earlier). The MS Defender is built into Windows 7 or Security Essentials can be downloaded from MS, both are free.
