program to find duplicate files

Is there a program anyone can recommend that will search my computer for duplicate files, especially documents.

 

CCleaner has a duplicate finder.

However, I sure would be careful about deleting any duplicates found (regardless the duplicate finder you use). They may be in more than one place for a reason. CCleaner lets you save the list to a text file, which is good for reference.

Instead of deleting the duplicate, you might just rename one first. For example, rename filename.123 to filename.123-dup-2-27-18.

Then forget about it for awhile. If something breaks, you can easily rename it back. If weeks later, you stumble on it again, you can easily see that it was a duplicate and the date you renamed it, and then know it is now safe to delete.

If you are doing this to free up space, if only a few MB in size, I would not worry about them unless you know for certain it is not needed.
