I have been using a program called ePrompter to check my yahoo email accounts but for some reason it is now unable to achieve this .
I have re-installed the program and resetup the accounts but to no avail, so yahoo must have stopped it in some way. The people at ePrompter have not replied to my queries.
Does anybody know of a program that will check if their is any mail waiting at yahoo ?.
Many thanks in advance for any replys.

It may be because of Yahoo's recent change in their email service.

From the Yahoo! mail help site:
"Effective April 24, 2002, Yahoo! Mail will no longer offer POP3 Access or Auto Mail Forwarding at no extra charge. Mail users can read their Yahoo! Mail messages in Netscape, Eudora, or Outlook by subscribing to the POP/Forwarding service. "

The service costs $29.99 per year.

It is only in the last month or so that i have been having the problem so it must be something Yahoo has done more recently
    but thanks for your reply

    UPDATE:

The problem turns out to be caused by Yahoos new Beta mail program the reply I received from ePrompter was very helpful and cured the problem I reproduce it below to help any other users of the program which is great for checking your Yahoo and various other webb based email accounts on the web. If you have not tried it give it a whirl it can be downloaded free Here

    The reply I received follows:-

As regards your problem with Yahoo, please note that ePrompter
will now only work with the new Yahoo mail program.* Also, we
have released a second patch that takes care of the following
    problems with Yahoo:

    1) asterisk shows when there are no messages,
    2) messages that have actually been deleted using ePrompter are
removed form the Yahoo inbox, but remain in the ePrompter inbox
    and
    3) there is problem with deleting the last or only message.

You may not have this latest patch. To find out which version
you have, click ~menu~ on the ePrompter screen and then click
"About ePrompter ". It will show you what version you have in
    the first two lines.

If you do not have a version 2.0 EPX 1.0 (SR12), just go to:

    http://www.epdownload.com/cnet/epsetup.exe

Get the download and install it right over your current ePrompter
    - say yes or okay to all the questions and all your settings
and addresses will be retained. Be sure that you have exited

your current ePrompter before you do the download and install.

    * To switch to the new Yahoo mail, simply sign in to check your

email account at the Yahoo website as you normally would. If

you are still on the old version, in the middle of the Yahoo

Mail page you should see a section entitled "Preview the New

Yahoo! Mail ", which gives you the option to "Try out the beta

version of Yahoo! Mail..." by simply clicking where it says "Switch

to the Beta Version" you will be able to convert your "old" yahoo

account to the new Yahoo mail program - and that's it - you are

    switched to the new version.

Please note that in some cases the option to switch to the new

version may not be immediately offered for a particular Yahoo

account. We have found that over the past 48 hours the availability

of this option comes and goes, but will become available for

most old Yahoo accounts in the next day or two. Unfortunately,

ePrompter will no longer be able to work with these old accounts
