I think I know the answer to this but not sure.

Have 2 XP Pro machines with one machine having an installed version of Quicken New User Edition. Clients wants to be able to use the program on the second machine. All shares are setup correctly but am unable to get Quicken to execute on the second machine.

Please give input as to whether this is possible without a multiple user license from Quicken.

    Thank you.

Don't know for sure but if he hasn't already, try mapping a drive letter to the share. Some apps won't run via UNC but will via mapped drive letter.

Also a quick question to Quicken tech support should give you an answer. Most newer apps are written so they can and do run client/server but with some, they will cripple a version and sell it for less money as a single user version.

Well, it helps me a little that I have a batch file I need to run daily that will not run from a UNC and will not run from my normal logon so I have to map it's location daily using an admin account.

Tried Quicken tech support and they dont have an email ability its pay for support. Looked at their faq's and all they mention there is how to share the database with multiple machines. But that just tells you how to back up the database from one machine and restore to the other.

I'm assuming that means mapping the drive didn't work.

In that case and based on the total lack of information about this (bah Quicken - bad way to behave), I'm thinking the only way you may be able to run it over the network is to remote control the PC that has the app loaded. And that's a major kludge so no idea if it is worth it to you.
