Hoping someone has an idea what's going on, when someone emails me a site to look at many times I am unable to pull it up, I get message "program not responding" sometimes I will get a blank white screen and it takes so long I give up. The little blue circle in the left hand corner keeps spinning away but that's it. I have Windows XP, IE8, am using Incredimail for email, have run full system scan (Microsoft Essentials) Glary, Malaware, Adaware, all come up with no problems. Thanks

Hi december46, and welcome to the Windows BBS.
How is your internet performing in general, do you get the same problems in general browsing, what browser have you set as Default in IncrediMail.
Download, or unless you have already installed Google Crome and set that as your Default Browser.

Hi Hawk, once in while same problem in general browsing, but mostly in e mails. Internet Explorer 8 is my only browser. I had considered loading Chrome but the local computer "geek" on a forum I belong to said no, use Firefox or Opera, then someone told me I could have several different ones, just let programs know which is the default, seemed like could have made a not so good situation worse & things seemed to get better for awhile so I didn't do anything but its starting up again. A lot of it seemed to start when I went from IE6 to IE8, preferred IE6, but some programs had stopped or said they were going to discontinue working with IE6 so I upgraded (supposedly).

To be honest I am no fan of IE8 I use it very rarely, there is no reason why you should not be using Google Chrome, Chrome has made some great leaps forward.
I would never just use one Browser, let alone IE8.
I also have Opera and use it quite regular, but Chrome is the least bloated one.
Mozilla Firefox used to be my Default, but when I run Internet Speed Test it comes in last now.
There is no harm in installing two or more Browsers it will give you a chance to test your e-mail with a different browser as the default.
Also to speed up things don't use any Home Pages such as MSN and the like too much stuff to load.

Thanks, think I will download Chrome and give it a try, I use Google all the time for searching. As far as home pages go, don't use them.
