I've used NS 7.02 Compact for some time. The other day I changed my dial-in password with my ISP. Because I did this I had to change my password for the newsgroups in NS 7.02. After changing the password for the newsgroups, I ran into an old problem: in a newsgroup thread there were no postings made by different posters- only one posting repeated over and over.

So I figured had to make a new profile. I deleted the old profile and made a new one. But NS will not remember the new one-- I always see the old one.

What do I have to do to make a new profile which is permanent and allows me to open NS with that new profile?

[My OS is Windows 98 First Edition.]

    Thanks,

    Stan

Yes, I did delete the old profile using the NS Profile Manager. But before I read your posting here I uninstalled NS 7.02 Compact. [I uninstalled because I figured something was wrong or still in the Windows Registry.] Now I'll just re-install NS 7.02 Compact. [But before I do that should I delete certain entries in the Windows Registry, the ones mentioned in the "Netscape Clean Install" info found at http://home.att.net/~cherokee67/ns67cleaninstall.html ?

That might be wise, since you have it uninstalled already. Be sure to back up your profile data (mail, bookmarks, etc). A fresh start can never hurt ;)
